Welcome to Clwb Golff Abersoch / Abersoch Golf Club. Located on the Cambrian Coast in Snowdonia, North Wales.

As featured in Golf Monthly and described by some visitors as "The Friendliest Golf Course in Wales" "A Jewel on the Welsh Riviera" and "Fantastic Golf Course, Stunning Views" the golf club at Abersoch is one to put on your North Wales golfing list. Offering a challenging mix of 18 holes on traditional links and parkland, the course is a must for golfers of all abilities.

Take for example the signature 246 yard par 3, 3rd hole with elevated tee and panoramic views requiring an accurate drive downhill over both gorse and a water hazard to a sloping green with a bunker waiting at the back. Follow that with links holes hugging the coastline and contoured over a century ago through huge, natural sand dunes, accuracy is key here as wayward drives can be punished.

After your golf, settle into the welcoming clubhouse and have a couple of drinks on the patio area, along with a bite to eat. The renowned Abersoch nightlife then awaits with bars and restaurants to suit tastes.

The golf is really great here in this part of Wales. If you are sick of tramping around mud clogged courses, playing off tee mats and to temporary greens - you need to make the journey. Quality golf at very reasonable prices and views to die for. Links golf as it should be.

A group of us played here in early April. The welcome was underwhelming both from the Pro Shop and from the bar.

The first 12 holes are links but in many ways not great and in too many instances good shots on blind holes are unfairly punished. If all of the course had been similar the score would have been better.

However holes 13 to 17 are totally different. In an area dominated by far too lush meadow grass and wet and in need of cutting to the extent that balls were being lost just off the fairway. Granted it had suffered from rain but these holes are out of keeping with the others and in themselves are not sufficiently stimulating to compensate.

All of the greens were in good condition but overall not a course that anyone wanted to come back to anytime soon

An interesting course with some great holes, some not so great. Starts off with a straight forward par 4 then a tricky par 5 where position off the tee is vital. This sets the scene for an excellent front 9. The holes along the beach are particularly good, 3 tricky par 4s that take a great deal of thinking. Its all about positioning your ball in the correct place for your approach shot, and its only when you play for the 2nd or 3rd time that you really appreciate what is needed.

After the 12th hole the course goes downhill unfortunately, and ironically as you move up the hill. Its like a different course, a different world, and only the 17th is of any merit at all.

You can get good deals here if you are willing to play early or late and its worth checking out, even if just for the 1st 12 holes. Its worth adding there is a new parking system in place, you have to register your vehicle when you get there in order to park.

Tricky opening 2 holes with out of bounds, water hazard and ditches to contend with.3rd hole long par 3 off elevated tee. 4th short par 4 with out of bounds to the right. Then it gets difficult as next few holes run parallel to the see......tee shots all about position not length.Dangerous in places as fairways close to each other so need to be alert to stray shots.Final holes more open parkland with some stunning views.Excellent greens every hole
