Accrington Golf Club
The Clubhouse was welcoming, with good facilities, with a modest sized ‘Pro Shop’ with friendly and attentive staff. The weather on the day we played was warm and dry, which enhanced our golf day.
The Tees were in very good condition, well positioned for making an interesting round of golf.
The fairways were in good condition with good ‘Run-on’, with the ‘Rough’ areas generally being playable. There are a couple of water hazards on this course, with a nice Par 3 hole over a pond.
The lay-out of the course was good and ‘Easy to follow’, and in a general ‘Anti-clockwise’ flow, benefiting a left handed player. There was a good selection of hole lengths with challenging Par 5’s mixed with tricky Par 3’s. A buggy would be recommended if you have any doubt about the distance and terrain to be covered during the game.
The greens were in excellent condition and quite fast with the ‘Breaks’ very difficult to read/predict.
The Lunch and dinner meals were excellent.
I would definitely like to revisit in the course as it was a most enjoyable round of golf.

A thoroughly enjoyable day out with our society on Friday 19th May. Greens were in excellent condition and very testing. The good weather contributed to a great day and the hospitality in the clubhouse was good value and service second to none. We will be back!!

Played here with csgs on Friday 19th May and the hospitality and the food and facilities were excellent and couldn't be faulted. The course played difficult due to the ground being so hard which meant good T shots could be punished because of the slopes in the fairways and it was virtually impossible to get close to the flags for medium to high handicappers, that being said the weather made it a great days golfing.

Last played here 10 years ago. Couldn't remember much about it. Played again with society. Wasn't disappointed. This course isn't long but demands accuracy. Some interesting holes. The par 3 12th was good challenge. Protected by a pond. Only short but makes you think carefully about club selection - you don't wanna be wet!
The greens were definitely a challenge. Fast , undulating and tricky. Had to really concentrate to read them.
I didn't stay for the food & hospitality after so not sure how this went.
I will be happy to return here.

Excellently kept course, with fast and difficult greens. To play well on this course requires local knowledge of the fairway positions and also how to play the greens!

22 of us visited in May 2017 for our latest society outing. In the 25 years of the society we've been here 8 times so its a course we enjoy visiting.
As usual we got a warm welcome from club members and staff. The bacon buttie was excellent as was the lunch. The evening mesl was excellent with a rack of lamb followed by sticky toffee pudding. The course isnt the longest but is a fair challenge. Sloping fairways and greens with plenty of trees make straight shots a must. The greens had recently been worked on so werent looking their best and could have done with a little more grass on them.
All in all a great day out and we will be back soon enough

This was the first time we had played here and we were not disappointed.
The course is very well laid out not the longest but not the easiest.
The greens were very receptive and in great condition.
Above all it was a very enjoyable experience and would definitely play again.

Played here in August 2015, my first visit for 6 years.

The main difficulty you will encounter is in reading the difficult slopey greens. Understanding which side to hit your approach will doubtless save a number of shots, as most greens have a significant camber on them.

Tee to green the course isn't too demanding, as the course is pretty short, and also fairly open. There are a small number of ponds, ditches and bunkers to be negotiated, but generally the course offers you a good opportunity to play to your handicap.

Overall, I would say this offers a good value Society venue, but without too many memorable holes.

Played on Sunday 19 July for 28.75 which included coffee & bacon barm. On arrival we were welcomed by a message posted on the door by the secretary and captain hoping we enjoy our visit. Nice gesture. After a cup of tea and a good sized bacon barm we played the course which was in superb condition with some very challenging greens. Some slow some quick and a couple unreadable. All in all a very enjoyable day. Worth a visit.
