played here as part of links golf cup over two days. Played this course on day two and it is far better than sister course.
The practice facilities and clubhouse are hard to beat.
double ended driving range with nike balls, 3 separate short game areas. Even better than the more exclusive renaissance course next door.
The course is mostly tree lined to start with , and opens up on back nine. When the wind blows it is really exposed. Fairways and greens much better than other course , though greens were still very slow even for start of season.
paid approx. £90 for this course as part of event and is worth that for the over all set up.
Free tees on practice area and Free bananas in locker room, so a few dozen of them and you have your money back

I will keep this one brief!

Excellent variation of holes, even throw in a run of links style holes to finish. Opening 12 holes are tree lined and stunning visually.

Greens were better than the Dirleton but not brilliant, expect in a month or so a big improvement.

Quality venue at a premium price but this is class.

The Fidra is in contrast to its exposed links partner a more shapely, aesthetically pretty course - for the first 11 holes.

You weave your way through the trees tracking the coast at one stage before returning to the exposed links turf of the Direlton course and it's a shame that all 18 don't match the first 11. These holes have a good definition to them and require you to hit it straight and to the right distance or you risk being blocked out. It's not until the 12th that you emerge from the trees and track the other course in an entirely links setting which is a shame. A very good course but not quite great.

Superb venue and set up in every way, this is an experience you will not forget and in my opinion worthy of the pricey green fee.

Some of the holes are stunning, the layout is varied and interesting, the area as a whole is a golfers paradise and if you are in the area don't miss this nor its sister course, Dirleton.

First thing to mention is the great reception you receive from the staff. They clearly take a great pride in what the do and the facilities on offer. Exquisite clubhouse with exceptional facilities. Then there's the course. And what a course. 2 very different nines with one linksy and the other tree lined; I know which nine my game (tendency for a slice) prefers! Always presented in immaculate condition and a great test of every dimension of your game.

This is a classy venue, from the moment you arrive to the time you leave you will be made to feel extremely welcome.

We had taken part in a day organised by TPEGS who give coaching clinics in the state of the art facilty which is unbelievable.

The course itself is a lovely track that is tee lined for the majority with tall pines, really tight fairways mean you must have your A game from the tee.

The closing holes are quite different with a links feel and for my mind are not a great finish and my only disappointment.

Overall a fantastic experience and the TPEGS day is well worth getting involved.

Entered this golf empire in brilliant sunshine. Everything looked stunning with nothing out of place. The hotel was magnificent , all the staff could not do enough for you. The course was lined with high pine trees that made some fairways very tight and narrow. All greens we'll protected by bunkers. The only down side on my visit was all the sand on the fairways and greens. Also poorly signed as to where the next tee was . Overall a great course and facilities
