The course itself is a brilliant course, testing a tricky with some fantastic greens, a real test for a true golfer, a good course for a good player, a tough course for us average golfers.

I played this course in late March after a harsh winter. The course was in good condition and the greens were amazingly quick and true for the time of the year. The clubhouse is welcoming with friendly bar and catering staff.

First time visit for me,won't be the last. Well designed course & God test of golf. Greens didn't look particularly fast but they were rapid. Hugh club house & perfect of hosting societies, would love my own club to have the layout. Hospitality was first class throughout the day.

In its top condition this is a lovely course, relatively flat for the most part with only 5 or 6 hilly holes, quite a bit of variation hole wise with very fast greens in the summer, normally in top condition in the summer with good practice facilities it's definitely worth a try

Considering its only mid march and the terrible weather of the last few months the course was in excellent condition with some of the fastest greens weve ever played on.
The facilities and staff were excellent, as was the food provided at the end of the day.
Would definitely recommend it to other societies

Blundells Hill is an attractive private course situated near Prescot, a short 10min drive from me, this was my second visit to the course.

The club was warm and welcome upon arrival which was very welcome considering the conditions outside!

The view from the clubhouse whets the appetite for what lies ahead - rolling fairways, towering trees and plenty of heather. Great view of what was to come from the elevated 1st tee.

Overall there is a great variety of holes with a number of fairways which are quite forgiving if your a tad wild off the tee but as with all golf, accuracy is everything.

Playing early season, we did not see the course in its full splendor as the flowers were yet to come into bloom, and the greens were a couple of weeks away from their best but still very good with , what i found very true rolls.

A special mention must be made of the outstanding food which was thoroughly enjoyed by a few members of our party.

I would recommend this course to anybody, although their midweek "special" of 1 round and food for £35 was rather outrageous!

Have played this course 3 times now and each time proper enjoyed the experience
Very attractive parkland course with wonderful views.
Fairways and greens in excellent condition.
Played the course on the 2nd May 2015 with the Bunkers golf society.
All the par 3 are very interesting just like the 16th hole. Played in windy conditions in a fantastic 4 ball..
Would recommend this course to anyone.. suits people with low handicap middle handicaps and high handicaps..
    Get out there and play...

I had never played Blundells Hill despite living less than 10 minutes away, yet it is definitely somewhere I would go back to in future.

I visited as part of Bunkers Golf Society on a wet and windy Saturday morning and found the club house to be warm and welcoming and the warm up facilities decent.

The course was in great condition with well defined fairways that were cut short and allowed for confident approach shots from the 'short stuff'. The rough was tricky, but a true punishment for wayward shots.

There are some well placed hazards with plenty of well stocked and tidy bunkers that are positioned perfectly to gobble up your ball if you don't hit your shots true.
The course has plenty of water hazards and has a real PGA course feel to it - and is similar in style to the Nicklaus course at Carden Park, or Formby Hall.

The greens were slick and smooth but were very hard - despite the heavy rain. This bodes well for people playing winter golf here, but for May they were a little punishing as the ball often 'skidded' off and good shots in with longer irons were almost impossible to keep on the dance floor. Its fair to say that most courses in the North West are about 3/4 weeks behind where they should be, due to the colder than normal spring, so maybe I am being a tad unfair and it is only right to point out that once on the greens, they were nice to play on.

Despite scoring reasonably well on the day, I would definitely want to play some of the holes differently when I next go back. Blundells Hill is definitely a thinking mans course and requires patience and to plot your way around - rather than purely opting for distance and pink seeking. This makes it more enjoyable as lots of other courses don't require such thought.

Afterwards, one of our members ordered a superb cheeseburger and chips and within 5 minutes a further group of 6 to 7 had put in an order. Well priced but also plentiful and tasty - a great way to end an enjoyable days golf.

Played here on a wet and windy Saturday in May 2015.
The course was very well presented and the fairways were hard and allowed a reasonable amount of run. Unfortunately this was also true of the greens and stopping the ball was pretty difficult. They did run very true and pretty quick. Another criticism was the pin placements on some holes were unfair. I think it was the 10th par 5 with the flag very front left at the bottom of a steep bank. My playing partner hit three good shots into the green and was putting for a birdie that was tickled and ran off the green. A couple of others were tough too but thats golf I suppose.

The course is a good thinking mans course and hitting driver is not necessary on 50% of the par 4's. There are a few well placed but hidden fairway bunkers to catch you out and water is abundant.

Overall though it's worth a second visit and no doubt I would play it differently given that opportunity. Good local course with nice facilities.

I played here as part of Bunkers Golf Societies visit on the 2/5/2015.

The course is very well maintained with nicely defined fairways and greens that will be lovely to putt on as the golf season progresses.

The course requires thought with club selection with cleverly placed fairway bunkers waiting to gobble up your ball if you choose the wrong club.

The bunkers were really nice, plenty of soft sand and well raked.

The course features some really nice water hazards with picturesque fountains which add some nice character to the course.

This is a course i would recommend you visit.
