Wales Tour 2017 14th May

15th May, 2017, by Steven moss

The final round of our wales tour this year was back at borth. I've played borth a good few times before and I have to say it was in the worse condition I've seen it in. The tee positions looked like they hadn't been moved for a while It was difficult to get a good spot to tee up from unless like we did you tee up 2 club lengths back. The fairways are poor with daisy's all over the place sometimes a great straight tee shot would end up on a patch of daisy's and your then being punished for hitting the middle of the fairway. Finally the greens are just not in the condition you'd think for the price you pay they didn't roll true as they have for the previous years I've been visiting and were a lot slower then past years. What was and could be a great little course and club is in need of real investment in all areas. We've played borth the last 3 years on our wales trip but after this year I've been asked to remove it from next year's weekend. I hope they get some investment and get the course back to its original good standards.

Visited this with Oswestry Golf Club men's section, what a welcome, the course the day before had been battered by the high winds and storm Imogem. Unfortunately three holes unplayable due to the debris on the course. But the other 15 were amazing
Well worth a visit if on west coast of Wales
