My wife and I played Clevedon in early August as a stop over on the long journey north from a holiday in Devon - the course is just a few minutes from the M5. The pro shop were very helpful in fitting us in, and after a lovely sandwich in the sun in the clubhouse garden we had a cracking round. The course is right beside the Bristol Channel, but elevated on a cliff, so on some holes the views are just stunning. The course is wonderfully serene, the holes that don't provide a sea view are in beautiful wooded glades. There are some really challenging holes, none more so that the eighth (see attcahed picture). The mens and ladies tees are next to a small ruined castle, but the fairway is some 150 feet below, doglegging to the right. Judging distance is almost impossible from that height for a newcomer to the course, but some clever signage advises against taking a driver! On the back nine the course sweeps along the Bristol Channel with great views of the Severn bridges, and some more spectacular changes in elevations. The par 3 14th down a steep hill is another memorable hole. This really is a top quality course, given the length and hills maybe not a beginner's course, but a very challenging one, and in very good condition when we played it. We'll definately be going back!
