Golfing heaven

For the price you will not find a better golf course in the British Isles. If you compare this to the much pricier Royal Portrush where the open will be played soon this is a much more fun and beautiful location. There is still danger lurking if your game is not up to its best but you won't be punished for being a yard offline. Water hazards abound on this course and after a gentle beginning you will be amazed at the last 12 holes on this course which I believe will stand up to any other course in the world. Just beautiful. I think the 13th could be the best hole in the world and I parred it. I should be happy but I missed a four footer for birdie.

What a superb course. Visually stunning. Great fun to play and course in immaculate condition. Greens quick and true. 13th Hole is beautiful beyond belief but don't let it's beauty fool you into thinking it will be kind to you. Staff in bar afterwards very helpful and enjoyed a great value meal on the balcony overlooking what must be one of the great courses of Ireland

Our society visited the Glen course on day 2 of our tour. We were met by the starter who gave us a run down on the course recommending tees as well as closest to pin and long drive locations. Pro shop was friendly and fairly stocked. Putting green chipping green and driving nets were available however the driving range is situated beside the Heath course some distance away.
The course itself was pure golfing heaven with perfectly manicured tee boxes fairways and greens. Every hole on the course was a true test and different than the one before. Well positioned fairway bunkers and tight tree lined fairways added up to accuracy. But you couldn't substitute accuracy for distance with long par 4s throughout. The par 3s in particular were just stunning as you stood on the tee imagining the Irish open galleries watching. It's a course you could play badly on yet still walk around with a smile. My camera was out as much as my putter!! I would rate this as nice a course as I've ever played
