The course was extended in the 1960's and 1970's by John Shade and Bill Biggar and, with the addition of the new tee at the 12th hole, now measures 6525 yards - a true test of golf.

I played in the Duddingston seniors open on the 4th may . Was expecting a classic Edinburgh parkland which it is but due to the recent dry spell was playing more like a links. Duddingston is a lovely easy walking layout very playable for all levels of golfer and quite a test off the white tees. When playing Duddingston it is hard to believe you are in the centre of Scotland's capital city there is virtually no traffic noise. The friendly staff and good fare in the very nice clubhouse topped of an excellent experience.

A nice clubhouse and facilities. The course it's self is well looked after and although it is a test of golf it's not too testing to walk and play.

Duddingston's members have invested in a lovely modern clubhouse and, every time I visit, I always get the warmest reception; ie nice grub and decent prices! The course starts with a testing par 4 (particularly testing for those of us with the tendency to hit a slice off the tee!) with trees down the right. Teeing grounds, greens and bunkers are really well maintained. Last time I played was in a wet spell in the autumn and the greens held up pretty well. Bit of water on the fairways but, given the rain that had come down, there's no shame in that! Would definitely recommend a round.
