I play off 16.

Visited here mid August 2019 with BGS.

Buffet to start was exceptional, the staff very welcoming.

First visit here and I was well impressed. Great layout with some good holes.

Course was in great condition and greens very good.

Good practise facilities and reasonable bar prices.

I would play here again.

I played here with Bunkers Golf Society on 15th August 2019 and I play off 9hcp.

This is a lovely parkland course that is superbly maintained with great greens. The upkeep of the course throughout was superb and its credit to the green staff.

At £35 for the golf plus a comprehensive 'finger buffet' before hand this offered great value and I would have no hesitation in recommending it as a club to try.

This was Bunkers Golf Society's first society visit to Eaton Golf Club in Chester and the club had come highly recommended by a friend of the society. It's safe to say, it probably is unlikely to be our last visit to this wonderful parkland venue.

On arrival, we were presented with a 'finger buffet' which just kept on coming and coming and coming - so much so, we had the remainder of it saved for after our round. A mixture of all sorts of hot & cold snack type foods that went down a storm with the lads and filled us to the brim.

Out onto the course and it was instantly easy on the eye with manicured and striped fairways and an eye for detail in presentation with all bunkers being well tended to and well maintained and tee boxes were flat and well cared for. Its often the small, simple details that resonate the most with golfers and Easton GC do this very well.

The day was very windy with gusts of upwards of 20-25mph at times - which made some of the longer par 4 holes extremely tricky. However, Eaton is a wide open course that allows for a degree of wayward shooting - but if you hit the patches of longer links type grass then its game over.

The greens were beautifully kept and were smooth and true. The pin positions were tricky on the day and there are subtle breaks and slopes that require solid green reading and confidence in your stroke. The only criticism would be of the members or guests before us who seemed unable to repair pitch marks as there were quite a few on each green - which must drive the green staff insane, given the extremely high standard they prepare the surfaces too. As we say, thats an issue for the members/guests and there is little the club can do about this when the days play is underway but its disappointing that people treat such a wonderful surface with such distain.

The course is easy walking but meanders its way around the 18 holes and some holes play pretty long [especially when windy] and with four par 5 holes in the 18 it can feel like you're hitting long irons and hybrids more often than usual - but this is no bad thing.

Afterwards we enjoy the remainder of our buffet and a few pints in the well presented club house. The prices were fair and the value of the whole day was exceptional given the quality of course, amount of quality food and the warm reception we received.
?Definitely a club we will return to and one we would have no hesitation recommending to golfing friends.

I made my first visit to this exceptional Cheshire course with a small party of friends from Bunkers Golf Society.
It will certainly not be my last!
The clubhouse is modern, attractive and very well appointed. There is an extensive patio/terrace overlooking the 18th green on which to enjoy a post round pint. The courteous and friendly bar staff happy to serve guests from their very wide range of cask beers, international lagers, fine wines and spirits.
We’d ordered a finger buffet for 12 before starting our round.....what was served to us would certainly have fed 20! (Chips, various sandwiches, pork pies, grilled prawns, cooked sausages, spicy chicken pieces, quiche, sausage rolls, lemon cake) It was all delicious.
Seeing that we were likely to be unable to finish what she had presented to us, the caterer very generously offered to wrap what was left and keep it refrigerated to enjoy when we came in after our round! Absolutely first class service.
The golf facilities are superb...including an excellent driving range, well kept practice area (inc bunker), beautiful putting green - built to USGA standards.
Out on the course the story is the same. Despite heavy rain falling on the previous day and throughout the night, there were very few areas of casual water in evidence. Tee boxes were level and tidy. The fairways were beautifully mown and well defined and the often undulating greens were smooth and fast running. It was an absolute delight to play from start to finish.
With a drink on the terrace and then another in the Spike Bar to finish off our “finger buffet” this was a day out which I’ll remember for a long time to come.
I can recommend a visit to golfers of all standards WITHOUT RESERVATION.

Bunkers GS August 2019

We visited Eaton with a small group of our society on a blustery summers day.

First impressions were good, with a modern clubhouse and excellent practice facilities on show.

We were greeted by friendly staff who served us a fantastic finger buffet worthy of any decent reception. We were made to feel welcome and accommodated beyond what was expected.

The course is in a lovey parkland setting with undulating fairways that were well defined and beautifully striped. The bunkers throughout the course must have been saturated with recent rainfall but were in good condition and the greens were dry and consistent throughout the course. The slopes on some are treacherous and some pin positions designed to test the most skillful golfers.

There are no easy holes and no feeling of up and down.

I really enjoyed the course and if I lived locally it would certainly be a contender for membership.

Excellent value and lovey food was my overriding impression of a really pleasant days golf.

Played an Open event at Eaton on Sunday 4th June 2017. The welcome that we received from the Staff, Members and Announcer was first class as always. The course is a fairly easy walk and not too strenuous. The course was a credit to the green staff and was in fantastic condition. Tee boxes, fairways and aprons were all cut and in excellent shape. The greens were superb and the fastest that we have played this year. The Bunkers had plenty of sand and had all been well raked. There are lots of ditches and ponds that along with well placed bunkers and long areas of rough make the need for accuracy so important. Thanks to all concerned for a brilliant day and we will definitely return for as long as we are welcome. I would highly recommend a visit to Eaton.

Went here as part of the £20 reciprocal deal we have with this club. Had lunch first then went out to play. Asked for filter coffee, they didn't have any so I was given a free mug of instant. Nothing was too much trouble. Catering is very good value, and well presented.
Went out to play and though we were thrashed by our playing partners, enjoyed the round. I thought the greens needed a cut as they were a bit slow, but the course is very well presented and it is obvious a lot of care goes into looking after it.
A very good day made even more enjoyable by the pint of Anniversary ale served in the well appointed club house, by friendly and helpful staff.

Played this course in cold but dry weather. The course was exceptional for this time of year. Not one green on temporary. Greens running true, fairways nice, a most enjoyable round of golf.

Played today and cost £16, full greens and unbelievable dry underfoot.

The greens were excellent for the time of year and still had pace, also worth considering most courses in the area were closed or on temps.

The course is a bit wide open for my liking, no great thought required on the tee, just grip it and rip it as they say. Needs to mature and have some better definition and punishment for errant tee shots.

The greens however have some great undulations and offer a real challenge. Some of the par 4's are really long especially in the winter with no roll.

Overall average layout but extremely good value, great facilities and clubhouse, a real bargain!
