The history of Fleetwood Golf Club has been positively traced back to the year 1861 when as a garrison town, officers at the Euston Barracks were instumental in the laying out of the links course, organising a golf competition and presenting prizes to the eventual winners. The first recorded Golf Club was disbanded when the School of Musketry was relocated to Hythe in Kent some five years later.

In 1893, townsfolk with an obvious passion for the game, instituted a Golf Club which had the boundary of the course running alongside the very edge of the sea. This is the accepted date from which the club's centenary was celebrated.

In all there have been three locations for the town's Golf Clubs and the location for the current course at Princes Way, designed by James Steer and opened in 1932, is the only true links course on the Fylde Coast.

Played in the good friday open and amazingly we had no wind. Very rare for Fleetwood.
The course was in good condition considering the terrible winter we've had. Greens werent fast but fairly consistent.
    The food after was excellent

Ince golf society visited here 07/11/2016.On arrival we were met by the club captain who made us feel more than welcome he was a true gent.Although bitterly cold, we all enjoyed the course some tricky holes and the greens were in good nick.We all agreed that it would be worth coming back to play again in the summer.

The windiest conditions i've ever had to play in. The course was still in great nick. The bunkers were my only issue but i think that was more the wind blowing so hard that the hadnt been able to rake them

    A classic Links

Fleetwood is a classic links course with a good layout, some great par threes and greens of a decent standard.

A bit tricky to get to and a fair drive but good value green fees make up for it. Look out for regular open offers as can play course and win prizes.
