If you have played Hexham you will need no persuasion about the merits of the course. If you haven't, you have a treat in store! A traditional parkland course on fast draining land on the south side of the River Tyne, Hexham Golf Club is a tough enough test of golf to regularly host County events, yet at 6,301 from the medal tees it is enjoyable for club golfers of all standards. The greens are regularly amongst the best in the County, and the views over the confluence of the North and South Tyne and surrounding countryside are stunning.

For our group it was a long trip but friends had recommended it. It is approached via a long drive and you get the feeling that the course is going to be good. We had a coffee before or game and the staff were very engaging. There are a couple of practice nets and a short game / bunker play area that is within what I can only assume is an old walled garden. Thoroughly enjoyed the course which was very fair and the greens were quite quick but very good. I will definitely return.

This is another course all handicappers will enjoy it's got some beautiful views along the way, the course itself is beautifully laid out with some gorgeous golf holes.
Hexham is renowned for keeping its course is great condition especially it's fast greens, the course is about 30 mins west of Newcastle and well worth playing, again from late May onwards to gets the best out of the course.

The first hole is very impressive with a large tee box from a higher position where you can see the the fairway meander down the hill to the green but beware of the stone wall on the left hand side as this is in range and not the place to be.

It has a few holes going up hill especially at the start but then starts to level out after 4/5 holes I'm sue everyone will enjoy this course and it has a lovely clubhouse as well.

This place is a hidden beauty. Cracking layout, in amazing condition (the greens impressed me more than anything) and even the staff in the bar and shop were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the day there and will definitely be back soon, and I intend taking my society with me too!
