Great Course

Played here as a guest in June, hence the value for money. This course is as difficult as I've played. First couple of holes are straightforward but from the third it really toughens up until the last couple. Blind shots , long grass, deep bunkers and plenty of gorse plus the wind make for an exacting but fun round. A must play if in the area

Tough links course

Plays here for the first time on a visit to Aberdeen in June 2016.
Off the white tees, this course presents a really tough test off the tee, with thick rough adjoining narrow fairways. Coupled with the usual array of blind shots and undulating terrain, this is a serious golf course, and one I would hope to revisit in the future.
Murcar course review

Murcar golf links is an excellent test of golf. Long tough par fours and tricky par threes. Hole five is the most difficult par three in the north east. Uphill with a cross wind..not easy. Lots of bunkers to catch wayward shots. Greens absolutely superb all year round.

Include Murcar when visiting the northeast. This links course is somewhat overshadowed by it's famous neighbour Royal Aberdeen which shares the same dynamic dunes.
Tip: Great hospitality and clubhouse.

Played as a guest so £20 was a bargain. Probably the hardest course I've played, ( 40mph winds didn't help ). Great condition ( June ) , but I imagine you'd have to play it a few times to find out where the ideal places to hit it are. Gentle first two and last two holes ,in between a real test.
