Played here in April 2019 for 18 pound each off tee off times at lunchtime and had a cracking round of golf. Not too windy so kept the ball in play. Loads of gorse but generous fairways. Greens were quick and true and the rest of the course was in great condition. Fantastic views especially on the hilly front nine. Highly recommended.

I visited Newburgh on the 24th may the first thing that strikes you is the spectacular modern clubhouse come pavilion as other sports are catered for. The course is made up of two different nines the more modern front nine is the hilly part of the course. The back nine is more links like, flatter and skirts the river. Both nines have one thing in common, GORSE! I personally have never played a course with so much gorse, lovely in full bloom but to be avoided if you want to keep your score going.
A very enjoyable round.

Played this course one cold November morning, first tee off time , coure had been close for 2 days prior due to the cold snap and we were the first to tee off in 3 days, for the tone of the year it was marvellous condition , green quick and true , two dormer 9 holes tho first 9 very modern compared to the back 9 traditional links type , holes 16 and 17 a Lillie wet underfoot due to the recent bad weather but no complaints , didn't see club house staff due to early tee time . Only down sides to the course were playing off a artificial mat all the time on the fairways ( would be different in the summer dryer months) and the helicopters flying over head from head from the rigs to the mainland. But we'll worth a round without a doubt

Newburgh golf course is composed of 18 holes of which the first nine is very different from the back nine. First nine is quite hilly but has excellent view over the Ythan estuary. Some blind shots here that are very testing. Second nine is excellent with some great par fours, only one par three and a monster par five to finish.

Newburgh added their second 9 holes over 15 years ago meaning this 18 hole links has two contrasting 9s. The front and the newer 9 holes includes some amazing downhill driving holes such as the 4th, 7th & 9th offering tremendous views over the neighbouring nature reserve and beach. The back 9 laid out in 1888 offers blind shots and more of a classic links feel with the round accumulating with a strong finish which runs along the shore line.

Tip: Ask to play from the white tees as the front 9 holes play much better from there.
