An excellent day and a very welcoming course for our Ryder cup match against another society, the staff at the course worked hard to help make our day a success and couldn't do more for us. Everyone from the Pro to chef was fantastic.

A good course our second visit in two months, they put together a great package for us, the course was in outstanding condition, only the green needed a bit of work, a little bobbly.

Otherwise a great day and a win for Hawthorne

    Will be back next year

Played Northop in a Society match on 14th May 2017. We were given a warm welcome by the staff at the course and the food/service was excellent all day. The course was in good condition though the bunkers could do with some attention as there was grass growing in some and a lack of sand. The Greens were a bit bobbly but all in a good day was had by all. The course is quite an easy walk and we will definitely return.

Great course but there is some distance between green to next tee block. Course was a bit boggy when we played in March but should be fine from Apr onwards. Greens played well.

What a fantastic club, welcomed by friendly staff and ate excellent food both before and after the round.
19 of us played a testing course which had very good greens and some very challenging holes. The course was in very good condition considering the time of year and the recent weather. We are looking forward to returning in May. As a society we felt very welcomed and wanted both on the course and in the clubhouse.

We played Northop on the 12 March 2017, for our society Spring Pairs Event. Coffee an bacon rolls on arrival. The course itself it a really good test. Considering the amount of rain we've had, I thought it played well. The greens are in great condition for the time of year. Pie, chips an peas was spot on. All staff are really friendly an helpful. We will definitely play here again.

Played this course as a 4 ball today and wasn't very impressed. The course is blatantly cut from an old farm as the fairways seemed to be a bit all over the place. Long grass in amongst the short stuff. The bunkers were rock hard and full of stones. The greens were inconsistent and a few of them were really slow.

We were sent out as a 4 ball behind 2 members who held us up all the way around the course but because they were members they wouldn't let us through.

The pub was a welcome refreshment stop after the round, great staff and very welcoming. All in all, wasn't my cup of tea and wouldn't rush back.

I played this course many years ago, and unfiortunately it hasn't got any better. The clubhouse used to be the brick building which is now a pub.
It's now several large portocabins connected together.
New , but not what I call a clubhouse.
The course is still several fields which I find hard to call fairways and rough.
The bunkers were consistent and I loved the consistency of them. The greens were bear and bumpy. Walking through a housing estate after the first hole wasn't ideal, and looking from tees into bedroom windows isn't etiquette is it.
The course has several multi dog leg holes which if you hadn't played the course would have a clue where to play tee shot to, for second to be played around next dog leg.
Would I go back again, ummm no sorry, it needs more drainage and character.

much improved and looking its best since approx 7/8yrs ago. greens were the best summer greens i have seen at the club in many yrs. nice to see the fairways looking tightly cut and shaped. rough was still a little tough to add to the challenge. my only criticism would be some of the tee boxes were poor/rough, especially 5 which needs attention and they were in need of a cut on some to stop that feeling of playing off the fringe rough with a tee. overall good to c the sleeping giant start to awake and all the hard work from those involved is paying off. good to see.

I have held my own charity event here a few times as I know the lads who play it will enjoy it the green fees are reasonable & the course its self is in impeccable condition there is a par 5 on the back that snakes through trees with water everywhere I defy you to try & make par, the course is not that old but the way it has been designed using the hundred year old trees make it a must play the greens are fast, & the pars 3's are a joy to play, I highly recommend you play it

WE played this course 7th April and for the time of year was in good condition. The Tees on the front 9 could have been better but could not fault the condition of most of the fairways and the greens.
That being said this is early on in the season and there was a lot of activity by ground staff so come mid - late in the year this course could be in a fantastic state.
i would certainly recommend this course to anyone, we were greeted and made very welcome by all the staff and members

Played here a month or so ago and improvement continues to be made by the hardworking team at Northop.

The greens were very good and rolled great, as good as they have been for a long time. Work on the 4th, 16th and 17th was noticeable.

Still a struggle with no clubhouse but that should be rectified soon and the new club looks excellent. Had a drink in the on site pub but have to say they are not very welcoming.

Overall it is definitely on the up and hopefully returning to what it should be - a major venue in North Wales/Cheshire

i enjoyed the 18 holes played. the course was in reasonable condition. greens a little slow, but running true, bunkers had very little sand which was disappointing as this has not changed for some yrs.
the club is going through a development stage with a new clubhouse being built so facilities currently lacking.
members are friendly as is the professional. now a members owned club so could be one to watch.overall a sleeping gem that needs some tender love and care and attention to detail, however some nice golfing holes.

Played this morning and after a couple of tough years the course is getting back on track.

Good definition on fairways and greens although slow ran true.

The new clubhouse is still under construction and will make a great difference when completed.

All in all good to see the club moving forward again and the club can be ready for next season.
