    Good But Boggy In Winter

I am a previous member of Prenton and always enjoyed my golf here. One or two holes that could be improved on but otherwise a varied course. Some stunning holes and a good risk/reward first hole that is great for team golf. Only issues are that it gets a bit boggy in the winter / wet months and the putting green is too slopey so makes it a bit ineffective to practice putting on. Scott on the bar is a proper gent and good company too.

Played here as part of bunkers golf society on a wednesday afternoon.
It was the societies first visit to this course and it didnt dissapoint one bit, it was in great condition! The green were very good in my opinion and gave great confidence if you put the ball on the right line. Its definitely a course i would like to play again as quite a few times you could hit driver but i chose not too as the tee shot was blind and there was alot of room. Would like to play this again now that i have a better idea of the layout.

I play off 19. Played here with Bunkers Golf Society on 2nd August.
Did not get time to use all practise facilities but very large green that was true and represented the greens on the course well.
really nice course with some great holes. Fairways were in great condition and the rough not too punishing.
the greens were in superb condition and cant complain at all.
overall a great course and would highly recommend playing this course.

Another new course on the event calendar for Bunkers and it did not disappoint. A tight and narrow course which required accuracy off the tee along with clean precise iron shots into some well guarded greens. Definitely a thinking mans course with all round beautifully manicured fairways and greens. A really nice course which i am sure we will revisit!

Played on a Wednesday afternoon with Bunkers Golf Society. A few of us enjoyed the clubhouse prior to our round and the food was nice, good value and served with a smile.
I only sampled the putting green which was well presented but maybe a little slopey giving the impression of very quick greens when hitting downhill.
In fairness once in the course it was a good representation of what we could expect as the greens were lovely and true and fast enough. The fairways were bouncy but firm underneath, just a shame I didn't hit many...but never fear because the course is not too punishing for those of us who like to swing free.
I enjoyed the shorter par 4's that needed a bit more thought and the par 5's that looked easier on paper also presented our group with problems.
Overall Prenton is a lovely local course that whilst not easy offers enough forgiveness that it can be enjoyed by all standards of golfer. Give it a whirl.

I played here on Wednesday 2nd August with the Bunkers Golf Society. It was mine and the society's first visit here. The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout and the members i spoke to were friendly and gave some local tips for the course before we went out.

The course was in fantastic condition with the greens being a decent pace but true and smooth.

It is a course with a variety of holes and one in which when I play again would play differently as from the tee the holes look tighter than they are. The layout is great and I will definitley be back to play this again hopefully.

I visited this little gem of a course with my pals from Bunkers Golf Society on Wednesday 2nd August. The recent wet weather did not appear to have had any impact whatever on the quality of the fairways or greens which were all in tip top condition.
The reasonably short yardage of the course, together with its wide fairways and large greens made regulation tee to green play on most of the holes quite realistic - even for the mid to high handicappers in our party which made the round even more enjoyable.
The comfortable clubhouse and friendly staff made the pre-round meal and post-round drinks a very pleasant experience too.
I would not hesitate to recommend this course/club to golfers of all abilities and very much look forward to visiting again.

I visited Prenton GC with Bunkers Golf Society on 2nd August 2017 and I play off a handicap of 11.

I've never played here before, but it will definitely be a place I return back to.

Its a nice layout with plenty of holes needing a bit of thought rather than just reaching for the driver and 'smashing it'.
The course condition was great with the fairways, tee boxes and bunkers all well tendered and the general appearance was lovely.

The greens were the star of the show at Prenton. They were slick and smooth and were a pleasure to put on and allowed you to commit to a putting stroke in the confidence it would roll true.

The whole day offered great value, both for the green fee and for food/drink in the clubhouse and it is definitely worth a visit for any golfers in the area.

This was our first society visit to Prenton Golf Club and one that was eagerly anticipated as we had heard positive things about the place and the layout of the course - and it didn't disappoint.

?The course offers something a little different to a lot of places out there in that it requires brains over brute force and lots of the holes require solid course management rather than monster drives - in fact, the big stick remained in most players bags at Prenton that most other clubs we've visited.

?The first hole is as tricky a tee shot as you'll probably encounter, which sets the tone for the course. Its a real risk reward hole where the pin is only 230 yards away but the risk of 'out of bounds' to the left, water to the right, and a brook running the width of the fairway at about the 185 yard mark offer enough fear for your first shot to make you play sensible...or at least it should do!

The course was in great condition with nicely manicured and rolled fairways, a defined rough and green aprons that were well tendered. The greens themselves were pleasure to play on. True and smooth with a fair pace to them and enough subtle breaks to keep your attention. They were excellent quality and considering how competitive the price was for the club, we thought it offered superb value. Something which a lot of other clubs could learn from. The result was that the clubhouse and the course were bustling with golfers [without being overly crowded we must add] and the whole place had a real buzz to it - which was great to see.

On arrival, several of us enjoyed food in the clubhouse that was plentiful and offered good value and the general prices in the clubhouse were very competitive. The members and staff at the club were extremely warm and welcoming and it had been a pleasure to deal with the club throughout the booking process for the society.

?In summary, Prenton Golf Club feels like a real 'find'. A place that will have us coming back again in the future - both with the society and as individuals for our social golf. Its definitely worth a visit for any society or avid golfer who's after a lovely parkland course that doesn't break the bank!

Admittedly I had never heard of this course. So it was a real surprise to find such a wonderfully manicured course that offers a true test to all golfers. The clubhouse is pretty and sits beautifully behind the 18th hole. It offers great value for money

Played Sunday 19th February. All greens were in play and had been spiked as well as some small amounts of sand from top dressing being visible. Tees were a mixture of mats and winter grass. Course is laid out nicely and I look forward to returning with our Society later in the year.
