Played here with Bunkers Golf Society.
This was my first outing at this course and only hearing of it by word of mouth. I can see why it had such a good report.
The fairways and tee boxes were well defined and a pleasure to play off. The course had some visually stunning holes were accuracy is a must off the tee!. The greens on this occasion were very quick and have a lot of break on them but were abit bobbly and putts from inside 3 foot were more challanging then usual. Its hard to convince yourself to allow for as much break as there is! Would 100% come back to this course as course knowledge is a must and it was a very enjoyable round.
A special thanks must go to the whole club who made every one of us feel very welcome from Jurgen who was our greeter to the past captain in the pro shop and the current captain who came over to wish us a good round and introduce himself, was very refreshing to see a club take this approach so hats off to you all.

I really enjoyed playing this tight course. You will need to be accurate from the tee to come home with a good score from this course, anything wayward will be a struggle, unless you have the luck of one of my playing partners, who could hit 2 or 3 trees then find himself in the middle of the fairway, no such luck for me. The Greens and Tee Boxes where good for the time of year and the course was well defined, the bunkers had plenty of sand in them, but I only went in one. We enjoyed a very warm welcome from staff and members and some extra tips from Jurgen. The club Captain stopped and chatted to us during his round as we waited on a Tee. Which was very kind of him to do so. It has a good golf shop and bar area. I look forward to visiting Romiley GC again, hopefully on one of my going days and with my course knowledge I would play it so differently. Thank you Romiley for an excellent society day out, looking forward to visiting you again.

I played her with Bunkers Golf Society on Sunday 14th May 2017 and I play off a handicap of 11.

Romiley GC was booked on the `word of mouth` of a friend and their words were "its a tight little course that punishes anything wayward". They weren`t far wrong.

Its a tricky layout with lots of out of bounds and hazards that run parallel with the fairways and anything slightly off line is gobbled up. The course is mature and tree lined and again, anything that isn`t kept within the confines of the fairway and you find yourself chipping out sideways.

The course was in good condition with the fairways well defined and the bunkers all well tended to. The greens were slick and quick for early May and there were very subtle breaks that caught a few of us out but they played well and were a consistent pace.

The course is quite undulating without being to punishing on the legs and its probably one of those venues where you think "I wouldn`t play that hole the same way again" - so prior knowledge would be useful.

It was great value for a weekend society and the club were supremely warm in their welcome, both in the booking process and on the day of our visit.

Definitely a club worth visiting.

I play off 20. Played with Bunkers Golf Society today. Course was in good condition, nice introduction from the starter with lots of useful information. A very tight course with some stunning holes. Tee boxes were in good condition and greens ok for this time of the year. It's a very enjoyable parkland course and would recommend a visit.

Great value for a weekend society knock.. Tight fairways but fair to the straight driver!

Greens were pretty consistent with some subtle breaks..

Got caught out by the occasional internal white OB and well placed water hazard - Jurgen did warn everyone pre-round! So my advice would be get yourself a course planner...

Definitely recommend Romiley GC to any societies looking for a different venue

I played here as per of Bunkers Golf Socities visit.

I enjoyed this challenging parkland golf course, I found the layout really interesting and found myself deliberating over club selection many times here which I think is a sign of a well designed course.

The fairways were in excellent condition and the greens rolled smooth and true. Some of the teeboxes where a little uneven but this wasn't a major problem, I just picked my tee up and found a flat area to tee it up.

The members and staff were very friendly the bar prices reasonable.

I would recommend this course if you're in the area and looking for a club to visit.
