Had a society outing here and had a great day all round. A short but testing course with very tight tree lined fairways on both holes so accuracy is key from the tee. Some very nice holes and nice greens. Staff were welcoming from the moment we arrived to the moment we left

Played here as part of bunkers golf society. This was my first visit here with not even knowing that the golf course existed! Its a course that is very tree lined and accuracy is absolutely paramount, i would say for me i cant remember hitting driver once on the front 9! It is a course that if played again you could take a few different choices off the tee to maybe score better. On this visit we previously had heavy rain come down and to be fair the course held up perfectly to it. The greens was the best part of the course for me and were true and consistant throughout the round.
This would probably be my only visit to this course as its just one that doesnt suit me, there arent very many holes that i remember that usually means for me its a bit repetitive.

Played with the swingers course was overall in good condition, are lot of the holes were very similar so felt a bit repetitive but the par 3s were really good and 1 or 2 long and very tricky, course was also forgiving, ball seemed to be in play even though drives were wayward which helped my score overall a great day 8.5/10, the club house even had sky so we could watch the game afterwards which was a bonus.

This was my first visit to Runcorn, a place that I had never considered playing before.
The weather played its part in making the course more difficult but overall i wasn't that impressed. The ladies in the club house were very friendly and the pre round food was good.
Practice facilities were not good. The putting green was fine but the chipping area should have been shelved as it's not worth having.
The course is ok. Little bit up and down and no standout holes. Bunkers were awful and not playable.
It's ok but sorry I doubt I will be back.

I played this course after a week of heavy rain an can say the the fairways an greens were in great condition an wasn't an water on the course an greens was pretty quick too. Make sure you check your yardages as 2 tee boxes for the holes an some off the card were different so watch came in handy. Fairways narrow so need b straight of tee,not longest of courses so irons of tee is safe option. Good value for money will b back

The course was in pretty good shape considering the down pour we had last week, i felt the course was as good as could be and the greens was in great shape considering the weather. The course itself is very open and very driver friendly.

Fantastic course, greens were great considering the weather we've had the rain didn't effect the course at all, narrow course suited my game, really looked after us also. Terry

Swingers Golf Society played here this weekend.
On the whole it's a decent course only short but some tricky holes and long par 3's
Impressed with the greens and condition of the course considering it had heavy rain earlier in the week.

Runcorn is a tight course, it was in reasonable condition given the recent poor weather, the Bunkers were compacted and the Greens where hit and miss, (some fast and some slow), where the weather had made it difficult for the ground staff. We enjoyed a breakfast before our round and the staff and members are very friendly.

I visited as part of Bunkers Golf Society on 10th Sept 2017 and I play off a handicap of 10.

Runcorn GC is a tricky course with tight tree lined fairways. Its not a long course, although there are a few long holes and its a fair walk.

A few of the holes felt a bit 'samey' and lacked character, but the course was in reasonable conditions - especially given the horrific weather in the days prior to our visit and even for 5/6 holes of our visit when the rain was coming in sideways.

The weather obviously had an impact on how I found the course as the ground staff must have been unable to do their usual work given the bad weather - but I can only comment on what I found on the day itself [but I will try and go back to review again in future]

Bunkers were pretty unplayable on the day and should have been out of play. Tee boxes were inconsistent and scruffy. The greens were OK given the poor weather and there was very little standing water on the 18 holes - which is a credit to the ground staff and club.

The food was decent before hand and the prices at the club were good. The day was reasonable value at £30 per man and everyone at the club was pleasant and chatty.

I'd probably not instantly go back to Runcorn GC as I think it lacks what I am looking for in a course, but I would like to go back and see it on a much better day to make a fairer assessment.

We didn't see it in the best condition due to weather.

This was our first visit to Runcorn Golf Club and to be absolutely fair the weather in the build-up to our day wasn’t great and we probably never got to see the course in its best light.

The days before the visit were wet, very wet….and windy. The course actually held up to the saturating conditions very well with very little pooling of water anywhere on the course and it wasn’t particularly soft under foot throughout.
However, the bunkers were all compacted and some were just like ponds and the course just looked a little bit ‘scruffy’ due to the leaves falling and [we are guessing] they were unable to cut the grass or roll due as a result.

Although golf is self-ruling and we obviously utilised the rules for standing water and could have implemented preferred lies, it was surprising there was nothing officially put in place by the club. Bunkers were left as compacted sand and were just unplayable for the most part when G.U.R would have been appropriate.

That said, the course wasn’t unplayable by any stretch and we were able to enjoy 18 holes of golf on what is a very tricky track – especially when the wind is blowing. The course is tight, very tight. Its main line of defence is the narrow landing areas and tree lined fairways and positioning off the tee is absolutely essential if you want to score well.

The greens were decent and had a fair roll, if a bit uneven – but again, we can understand this in the circumstances as the club must not have been able to do their usual maintenance. They were a little unevenly paced with some being quick and others being much slower.

Tee boxes were generous with very wide teeing areas but some were a little uneven with a couple being a bit like an upturned wok – which has a tendency to encourage a pull/fade depending on which side you are standing.

The clubhouse was welcoming and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed a full English breakfast beforehand which was tasty and the prices in the bar post round were fair. The day cost of £30 per person, which at 11:30am on a Sunday [including the food] offered reasonable value.

The practice/warm up facilities were a little mis-matched. The putting green was OK and there were two warm up next nearby. However, there was a strange pitching area that was basically some overgrown and scruffy grass with a flag jammed into the middle of it. We did eventually see a practice ground between the 1st and 10th holes, but very little obvious signage of this from the club house.

In summary, it would only be fair to go back to Runcorn Golf Club during more pleasant weather conditions and to play it in its prime. We can only base this review upon how we found it during our visit and that may be a little unfair.

Average at best, played once and while it wasn't the course to set my dreams a light it was ok, quick round 3 1/2 hours for 2 ball, get out for the day of nothing else happening I'm sure you will enjoy some of its tests

Again not the best finishing hole just over 115 yard par 3, suppose good first viewing friends and other coming home , found this course a big up and down for most of the holes , well stocked pro shop , old but in keeping club house , there are better courses around within 20 minutes drive, wouldn't not play again but wouldn't rush back to play
